Fun right here in South Louisiana

Looking for something fun to do right here in South Louisiana? Ever been Zip Lining? Did you know we have a Zip Line that is right over the beautiful Maurepas Swamp located in Laplace, LA? Zip Nola is The world’s FIRST fully aquatic swamp zipline! Let me tell you it was so much fun! So worth the drive there!

Being apart of the Nola Mommy Blogger Tribe I was able to have my very first Zip-lining advancer. I put on a brave face but I was scared to death. Myself with a few other mommas had the best time. We laughed, we freaked out, we over came our fears, but mostly we have a blast.

* Zip Nola has 5 separate ziplines totaling a half mile through the Maurepas Swamp! View wildlife including: alligators, turtles, snakes, waterfowl, whitetail deer, wild boar, racoons and more from the safety of the treetops! * 2 Sky Bridges. Elevation gains in style! Their unique suspension bridges are tethered between hundred year old cypress trees. These are sure to be a highlight of your tour. * Elevated spectating platform! Their 2000 sq ft elevated spectating deck is perfect to view the swamp scenery before or after your tour! Take in the sights of famed Maurepas Swamp before your tour even begins! * Their Spiral Cypress Tree Staircase is ONE OF A KIND! The spiral tree staircase is constructed around the trunk of one of the old growth bald cypress. Nestled in a grove of cypress trees, this truly unique feature is one of the most picturesque swamp views New Orleans can offer! * From atop the 60’ start tower, riders will be able to see the famed Maurepas Swamp, the historic village of Frenier, Lake Ponchartrain, as well as the skyline of New Orleans! While traversing the course, riders will get up close views of the swamp habitat including cypress trees, Spanish moss, swamp flora & wildlife! Zip Nola offers party packages for all type of events. Fun for all ages. (* are all descriptions from Zip Nola’s website.)

Now for some feed back from myself!! The view really was beautiful. I am a small town gal that grow up hunting and fishing in the swamps of Louisiana so this was right up my ally. We got very lucky with the weather when we went. It was on the cooler side. I think it was like upper 70s lower 80s that day. I don’t know if it would have been as much fun if we had gone on a hot summer day. I wore biker shorts and a plain semi loose white tee that i was able to try up, and some comfy tennis shoes. With the balky harness you really don’t want to wear baggie clothes. I had a fannie pack with me to hold my phone and the other ladies as well. They also sell a waterproof phone holder you can wear on you neck in their gift shop.

To me the scariest part was climbing the 60′ tower to the first line called “The Takeoff”. That spiral staircase was steep and had my heart racing. But the view from the top had me feeling like I was on top of the world. Once you are up there you either have to jump and trust of face those stairs going down and to me that was NOT going to happen. The guides were very helpful and had lots of tips to help you get over your fear. We had mix feelings from all of us when our turn came to take off. For myself I just said ” F it I’m running and jumping.” I don’t like heights but that rush down that line was so much fun and freeing. After that each starting point the guides would share a different trick you can try. There was the Star Fish, Spiderman (upside down) and the zig-zag. I tried all of them. The one thing i will say is the break got me lol. I was trying to be cute and forgot that a break stops you and well let’s just say I was glad I am a girl because if I would have had man parts I would have been in a world of pain hahaha. I also believe I was the only one that didn’t hit my head on the branch along the staircase built around one of the cypress tresses. Because I shared part of our day on my stories and tagged them in it, I was able to spin their wheel and recieve a special treat. I was so happy when I got to get an ice cream. You know my inner child came out because I picked the Power Puff Girl ice cream. They even had a baby Alligator that was just hatched weeks before that I got to hold.

All in all it was a great time had for us moms that needed a day to have fun and enjoy our beautiful state with call home. I will can’t wait to go back! I may have to bring it up at one of my float meeting or Mom brunches as a day trip!! Thank you so much Zip Nola for invited us to come and experience this opportunity. And thank you so much to my sweet friends with The Nola Mommy Blogger Tribe. I’m so glad to be apart of a group of ladies that support each other and likes to have a good time. Enjoy some of the photos and clips below from our fun time at Zip Nola.

Let’s get on up there!
No joke this was the scariest part!

I’m the worst

I’m the worst

Omg it’s really the last week of September and I’m just now posting a new blog post 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ see I’m the worst!! I say all the time in my Instagram stories how I’m the worst blogger ever hahaha. But really y’all I’m the worst at writing or taking notes. And even worst at taking pictures when I’m in the moment.

A lot has happened this year! Mardi Gras, camping, end of school, summer fun, brunches, fashion show, back to school, granny’s day out, my birthday, Connor’s 5th birthday and soccer. It’s been a busy and fun 2022! And see y’all missed it all here but not over on my Instagram and TikTok hahaha.

Okay but on the real!!! So you know how most people do New Year’s resolutions? Well I don’t do that. But I do try to make a goal or change something when my birthday rolls around in September. And your girl turned 35 on the 8th!! That’s right I’m half way through my 30s. Side note my 30s have been the best years of my life!!! I became a mom in 30s. I found my self love in 30s and I started doing what I love and never through I would do in a million years. Yes that’s right I’m talking about this blog (that I’m the worst at) and building my tribe on instagram!!

So with all that said I really think I should make my goal for this year to make it a point to post once a month if not more!!! We won’t count this post as my one blog for the mouth of September! I pinky promise that you will get a new post before October. If you follow me on Instagram or TikTok you have already seen what I will write and share able in my next post.

But until then here is a few cute photos of our life so far in 2022!!! I hope you missed me as much as I’ve miss you!!!
